Crafted in Peru by skilled local artisans, each piece is made from alpaca fibers, one of the most sustainable materials in the world. Alpacas have a minimal environmental impact: they are gentle on the land, require far less water in the spinning process compared to wool and cashmere, and produce naturally antimicrobial fibers that reduce the need for frequent washing. When we blend alpaca with other fibers, we ensure they are responsibly sourced or made from recycled materials. The yarn suppliers we work with also hold leading sustainability credentials, including GOTS, RAS (Responsible Alpaca Standard), and OEKO-TEX® STEP certifications.
Our commitment extends to the people behind each piece. We partner with a trusted Peruvian producer who has built a thriving network of skilled artisanal knitters, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect for traditional craftsmanship. Their dedication has been recognized with the Fair Trade Peru Good Practices Certification and the 2024 Good Practices Labor Award.
At Frill we recognise that even the most responsibly made products leave a footprint. That’s why we’re committed to making ours as small as possible by planting one tree through OneTreePlanted for every order.
